okie dokie
i have just gone to a visual presentation for the lucasarts singapore studio, where its main priority is to reach out to grab the talent pool in singapore.
but it ended up with it being more like a casual presentation about lucasarts and its collaboration with ilm, industrail lights and magic, the very same people who made most of the special effects shots u see in feature films nowadays.
yeah so there were like big heads from lucasarts in california and ilm to they took their time to come down and talk to us about the upcoming projects and their past works. they also showed the latest technology they were developing for the next-generation games.
it was pretty amazing stuff.i gota say.and it was a pretty much last minute decision to get there.
i was like 2 bus stops away from home free when he called and asked me to go and try to squueze my way in by registering on the spot.u see.i was kindalate in noeing abt this talk and i registered late and therefore my application got rejected.so i went home.
normally i wuld just give it a miss but its lucasarts after all so i made the trip all the way down to the cathy which was spanking new.ferst timer here...
oh yeah..they also mentioned that they are actually working on a project that would be a 3d serial animation that would be aired. its gona be called star wars: clone wars and its all made by the ppeople at lucasarts.damm.that imp0ressive.
also, other then dat, they are makin a game for the sony (whooo~) psp (whooo again~~).its a music beat simulator where it generates mad button mashing on ur psp based on the music it has stored in ur psp itself.so there are tonnes of different combinations and it opens up a whole new door towards innovation.
speaking of innovation, there were also displays of new techs for the upcoming next gen games like indiana jonesas as well as their personal franchise, the star wars. both displayed great sense of physics and dynamics and also had this new software which enables the character to react realistically in real time, without any keyframes in the animation.how cool is that?i bet its gona be very widespread in the industry sooner or later.
yeah.dats abt it lah.just wanna log down this moment.nth much lah.see yah around man.
